quick exhaust decision

Ok got 2 days to decide what to do..... I have the xtc 2.5" DP w/cat, and need exhaust soon so i am stuck between two. Either the gmpp performance exhaust at $400 new or a custom 2.5" piping with muffler or can. I dont want it to raspy but would like to know its there.

Any suggestions would be great especially from personal experience. I do have the CA header but decided against installing it. So just the DP and some form of exhaust setup...

thanks.

Is the gmpp noticeably loud with just that and a dp? was there a noticeable gain?

GMPP performance exhaust sounds fantastic. If you listen to the 'Exhaust comparison' mp3, it actually sounds more like the 'touring' on that clip.

Nice and throaty, good bass... a little bit of back pressure pop when engine braking. I thought it was well worth it. The 2.4 as a rule (and IMO...) has a much nicer tone than the 2.0 does. Maybe it's the vvt or the slightly larger displacement but it just sounds ballsier.

I say GMPP performance with the angled tip FTW.

being you don't really feel like experimenting with your car that much, you can't go wrong with the gmpp performance exhaust. It is one of the best sounding exhausts you can install on your car, period.

I personally like the Magnaflow catback. Full stainless steel, awesome build quality, and it's a great sounding catback!

Where are you getting the GMPP for $400 from? I'd prefer that one. I want to get one as well. That's the best price I've seen for GMPP.

I wonder how that Magnaflow sounds. Is it louder than GMPP? Any vids by chance?

From what I've heard, the Magnaflow is about the same sound level as the GMPP performance. It tends to have a smoother, deeper tone. If you want a little more aggressive sounding exhaust that has a bit of rasp to it, then the GMPP is probably your best bet......but if you just want a nice deep sounding exhaust that just plain sounds good, then get the Magnaflow.

If you want loud, mimic my setup.

CA v1 header, XTC 2.5" de-cat downpipe, ARK N2 cat-back

Well i debated it for a long time ordered it and all, but i just dont want the hassle of removing it if need be for warranty work. I plan on keeping the car for another 4 years and im worried it may cause problems down the road. I was originally gonna go with the header/dp and gmpp perf. Also it may be to loud i havent heard a 2.4 with that setup. Also ive heard of the car running to lean, as i dont plan on tuning it right after to match the air increase. Maybe im wrong idk.

Also for those that have had there header/dp catback installed what kind of time frame does it take? Curious to see as i would like to have something installed before the meet in Drum. But ive never done it before. I do have access to a lift.
