quick question...swap!
hey guys i may have a 2.0 motor and 5 speed tranny in my hands real soon...with engine harness and ecm ..ect..i have a 2.4 auto...how hard could it be to swap the motor with everything...
im gettin the parts for rather cheap hopefully soon....so i didnt know if having the engine harness for the 2.0 is that much easier just like plug and play just swap the engine harness and the ecm and it should be all set..not sure im def use to honda's swaping stuff

If your getting the whole setup then you should be able to salvage most of the parts from the 2.0 to build your own 2.4 s/c kit. You will end up making more power w/ stock SC parts on your 2.4 then you will with a stock 2.0 motor in your 2.4 body. Check out Becks threads:

I guess what im trying to say is... No one has here has ever done it, and everytime its been discussed cost is the stopping factor. Plus the risk of screwing up your new $18,000 car with something no one has ever tried before.
i just wish i could have it a 5 speed...the only hard part to me would be canceling out the tcm...and tripping wires...other then that just bolt ons and making the shift cables work and setting up the pedal...ill just work on the supercharger swap first then.
trust me im not worried about taking anything apart in my car...i will have pics up soon i relocated my heater controls to where the cup holders were and carpets a template to go around it....and made a 6 gauge pod for where the heater controls were....had to relocate the heated seats and passenger air bag light too...

i know the parts have been posted and have all the links and i copy them down and stuff but just nervous of missing anything...i want to start off with stage 2.... if its possible....and i know a few places that can tune so ..i should be all set....
Just take all the parts off of it that you need to supercharge your 2.4, If you are worried about making less power because its auto don't be because even Hahn's 2.4 is auto. Auto is actually better sometimes and its better for a daily driver. You are gonna waste alot of time and money just to make less power

I believe Beck posted a complete parts list in one of his threads...
try to get some pics up soon....the rest of the gauges come in tomorrow then i have to wire them all up and clip the piece back in the dash...alot of customizing to get it to fit....and i carpeted my pillars....black carpet.
like people are saying, just sell what you can and use whatever to s/c the 2.4 way easier and cost effective. as for the tranny swap, I have no idea, i wouldnt do that on a new car. if you dont mind me asking, why didnt you get a 5pd to begin with? you can always go back to the dealer and see if you can trade it in for another 2.4 w/5spd or even a 2.0SS/SC...... if you do keep the auto tho, they will handle the power, I would just upgrade you cooler, and maybe buy a B&M shift kit or something...

well i know some one was going to say it they always do....its like my second automatic outa all my like 25 cars i had....it was a 3 day sale for 0% interest and i just kept overlapin cars one over another so i owe to much to trade it in....still owe more then whats it worth...so thats outa the option...and ive done a 5 speed swap before just thought i would give it a shot...cuz i will take anything apart new or not...
