racing the 2.4
racing the 2.4
i went to the track yesterday and i got a 15.8 as my best time with the mods in my sig, (check drag racing forums for more detailed info on the run) and i was kinda let down seeing as there are some 2.2's running better times than that, i was wondering if it could be due to my car having such low miles (2700) maybe it will get better with time, im an automatic so the driving skill isnt much of a factor, who else with an auto 2.4 or even 5 speed has ran anything close to this?

well on my first 2 runs which were the slowest ones, i tq broke them and started in L with trction control off, on my last and fastest run i tq broke but I started in I gear. im thinking lowering my tire pressure to 45psi wasnt low enough or that my car is still breaking in. and yes its automatic for those that were wondering. ill go again in 1 month with lower tire pressure and see if i get a better outcome

Almost all passenger vehicle tires should be inflated to 30-40 psi, personally I keep mine in the high 30's, DO NOT inflate them to their max pressure for daily use, if you hit a large pothole they could EXPLODE due to the pressure, many tires are rated for 50psi MAX but if you keep them there they could explode under normal conditions, use the tire pressure ratings that are stated in your manual
i have 1 question about that, if you were to go get another tire that wasnt stock how do you know what psi to keep it at if all it states on the actual tire is the max pressure?
You should still use the same pressure as stated by the car, as i said, i inflate my tires about 5 psi than it says, because i like spinning my tires
The higher pressure you use, the less road friction you'll get, but you'll get less traction in the process, and same goes for vice-versa
