I run the Pirelli P-Zeros that come stock on SS/SC's... Also I use the 18 inch rim from one too what do you think I should set PSI at for track times/

depends, do you want less drag but with more tendency to spin, or do you want the extra grip but with more drag?

Not necessarily!!! It depends on how much sidewall you have and the diameter. For example my truck tires are 305/45/22. They are stated for a max pressure of 50 also I believe but do to the smaller sidewall and larger rims...22's...It is best to keep them @ 42-46 psi. to prevent damage to the rims. I think that if you stay with a closer to stock size tire you probably will end up using the same pressure like Hack abuse stated but if for some odd reason you decide to put 20's on your ride you will have to go with a much lower profile tire that will ^ your needed pressure

not bad when I first ran my car COMPLETELY stock it went a best of 15.8 and had about 100 miles on it (after the new motor) last time I went with about 4500 miles and an intake i ran a best of 15.7 but it kept getting better each run

What kind of time differences do you think there will be between the 5spd and auto in the 1/4? .5 sec?

Keep me updated on this. I'll go with you. I'll most likely still be stock except for the DC Sports strut bar I put on this weekend. If anything, I might have an Injen CAI on by then. At least that will give us some (almost) stock 1/4 times to compare.

The auto is holding you back. Its not exactly a performance piece and only has the 4 speeds.

Look on the bright side, you should smoke an auto 2.2L

Post all the data from your time slips please.

yeah, the auto will add about .5 secs. So I did 15.2 stock, so you should be arouns 15.7 stock, and faster with your mods. Drop that tire pressure and brake torque it hard.

I run usually 25-28psi at the track depending on track conditions.

Its working out preatty nicely a couple of days before i put it on i put my 18" s/c wheels on and i noticed that they made my car slower so i was bummed but once i put the pulley on it made it a decent amount faster then when i had the 17's on it. If you have the basic bolt on intake exhaust i would recomend getting it. And it was super simple to install (compared to changing an pulley on most cars.)

ok well i will post all my time slips so we can compare data on this, next time i go i will run on 28 psi tq brake hard from L to I and see what kind of numbers come up, i lowered my pressure yesterday and now my car feels much faster and my t/c doesnt kick in as easily so i made a huge mistake at the track with my tire pressure

Horror stories, what kind of stories have you heard? I dont know of anything that could go wrong because the pully is the same size as the stock its just made out of billet alum to make it lighter. The only thing that could happen would be break and that would be next to impossible.

I've always heard that lighter pullies hurt your drag strip times... makes it rev much faster and harder to launch.

That doesnt make much sense? You want your car to rev faster for better throttle response and the only way i could see it making it harder to launch is if you are low on traction or have wheel hop really bad. But i dunno there might be some logic behind this. But i know before my pulley and with my 17's i ran an 10.11 and an 10.19 and an 10.29(horrible launch) in the 1/8th and after my pulley and with my 18's i ran one 10.09 and one 10.01 and one 9.98. My times could be better if i got some motor mounts because when i put the 18's on my car it wheel hops like curazzy compared to the 17's

well from other cars ive heard switching pulleys to aftermarket ones without some kind of dampener can cause bad vibrations in the engine but im not fully aware of this pulley so i dont know much about it, got a link to it?

those are some good gains. As for myself I've never heard of any horror stories from pullies. all I know is that when I sell some audio stuff I have I'm gonna get me a pulley
