running lean

I just figured out my car is running lean. I think it's because of the new intake, so the MAF is reading differently. Is there anything i can do about that besides getting a tune? I didn't think an intake could cause that much of a problem. I don't really want to spend a couple hundred on a tune while i have only intake on.

I have a 2.4L. Well, I took my car to the dealership to get an oil change and I told the guy to check what the code was, and when he called me later to tell me he was done he said there was nothing wrong with my car. When I got in the CEL was gone, but then about a block away from the dealer it came right back. So I took it to autozone to have them re-scan it. That's how I found out it was lean. How long did it take for yours to go away? I've had the CEL for a little more than two weeks now.

I've tried resetting twice already, by disconnecting the negative terminal and leaving it off for 10-15 min. The CEL comes back after a little driving. This thing just won't leave me alone The guy at autozone told me to touch the negative terminal to the positive to reset the ECU. Is that safe? I haven't tried it yet. I was always told touching negative to positive was a no-no.

Yea i know it's not going to do much, but wouldn't you want your car to be running perfectly? I know I do. This stuff bothers me

Perfect is based on opinion. Some say 11.0 is perfect some say 11.6 is perfect. All im saying is i can't remember the time i've had air fuels richer than 12.5 and my car has 56000 miles on it and has never blown the motor due to heat and or tunning. If you had even a 2.85 pulley i would tell you to start getting your A/f's in order before she blows but on a stock or 3inch pulley heats at a minimal internals will be fine. the leaner s/f has you running good anyway enjoy it.
