ss/sc for 2.4?

Does anyone know if the supercharger/mainfold bolt up to the 2.4? If it does my friend is going for it.

I din't know if they are the same. I think the 2.2 and 2.4 are similar blocks but not the 2.0. Then you have the problem of tackling the vvt systems

They're all the same block... the LSJ (2.0 SC) is a de-bored and de-stroked version of the 2.2... and the 2.4 is a bored and stroked version of the 2.2... I don't think it will line up b/c of bore differences... also, the 2.4 runs a very high compression ratio which would be bad for a FI setup. That's not even mentioning the VVT issue.

with the forged internals the 2.4 motors have 8-9 psi intercooled should be no problem. isnt the vvt always changing based on on wats goin on in the motor? the question comes, does it bolt up with no problem...the rest will be sorted oout on the dyno

You ignored the biggest point SilverStreak was trying to make, though. It's more than just a matter of "bolting up", there are a lot more issues to take into consideration. Forged internals aren't going to make a difference if the compression is too high for FI, motor will still go boom. And I believe the VVT stuff is computer controlled. So if the computer doesn't correct for the addition of boost then you're going to be screwed even more.

You guys have a lot of NA horsepower to start with. I think it'd be impressive to see someone build up the car without slapping on some boost.

10.4:1 compression with forged internals. 8-9 psi intercooled is not far fetched. I think you need to check your sources. VVT is still to new for anyone to know for sure how its programmed, but until someone does something and dynos it we won't know. Someone has to be first. So back to the orig question, will it bolt up?

You can not get the kind of HP my friend is looking for with n/a.

high compression and FI don't make a motor go boom. bad tuning makes a motor go boom. that's all i'm saying cause i don't want to start a fight or anything.

agreed
because of the higher compression you would probably want to consider a different intercooler ( a better one )
the vvt would probably be okay, they are turbocharging the vvt ecotec next year ( the new 2.0L solstice motor ) so its definitely not impossible.

the main thing we need to know is does it bolt up, is it a swap over mod? other wise were talking custom intake manifold...

The way the original question was phrased sounded like it was intended as "Can it just go on the car as-is". I'm sure with tuning it would be fine, but just pointing out the compression on the 2.4 is higher than the 2.0...obviously it needs to be taken into some consideration, but in the LSJ tuning PDFs they raised the compression on it as well. Same with the VVT, if the computer can adjust, not a problem, if it can't then it's another thing that needs to be taken into consideration. Doesn't rule out anything completely.

As for fitment, see if you can get the measurements from the 2.4 intake manifold and from the Eaton and see how they match up. Worst that could happen is you'd need to have the manifold custom made, like you said.

I know that the 2.0 and the 2.4 has the same bolt pattern on the exhaust side. Not sure about the intake side. Does anybody know if the 2.0 and the 2.4 head is the same casting?

you can also probably ask GM performance division.
