Performance problems

I had my car into chevy service today. My car hesitates and stalls all over the rpm band and half the power that it usually has. They said it was do to the performance parts that i have done. injen intake, high flow cat, header and exhaust. They are gonna try and remap the computer to see if it helps if it doesn,t. They recommended me to put my stock stock stuff back on.

If the cat is clogged yes, but its probly your MAF sensor unplugged or damaged.

Did you get the oil changed? If so check to be sure the BARO sensor is not left unplugged or damaged in any way. This is the sensor that some unplug to get to the filter. If it is unplugged or damaged it should have turned on the SES light, but may not have. Also check over everything else that may be in the area they were working in for any think else they may have knock off. Was it running like this when you took it in?

the high flow cat has been in my car for about four days. they blamed it all on my aftermarket stuff nothing was covered under warranty. it could be the maf but it didnt start stalling till after i got the high flow cat. when i first installed my intake for a good day it did the same thing till the maf sensor got used to more airflow.

after talking to a couple performance stores. they said that i had to much air going in and to much going out. my problems didnt start happening till i put on the high flow cat so im gonna put my original back on and see if that helps.

Perhaps you need to increase the amount of fuel the engine is getting instead of cutting back on the air flow... maybe invest in some bigger injectors?

Check the O2 sensor and the MAF sensor first. Make sure they are functioning properly. I can't believe that these mods would require larger injectors or remaping of the PCM. If working properly the MAF and O2 sensor should be able to compensate for the increased air flow.

i thought the same thing. i put a regular cat on in and kept the 2and half piping from the header to the resonator. my car drove a little better but still cuts out and stalls in the higher rpms. Im gonna put 2 2/5 piping on it and hope it fixes it. its really annoying i lost alot of power. ill let you guys know what happens tommorow

I don't think that your loss of power was caused by the adding of a high flow intake and exhaust. There is something else going on and if so the problem will still be there after you reinstall all of your stock parts. Have you checked the fuel pressure?

Just wondering, if when puting in these mods, are they messing with the sensors. Bumping them, ect.
Cause I am thinking about the sri/cai from injen. I talked to the people at injen, and they say that the 2.2L intake will not work for the 2.4L. But I have seen the pics you guys have posted. It looks like it fights to me. But my question is when in the sri configuration, how do you tie it down, does it come with another type of bracket? And mainly, what is the price of it? Any good answers out there?
Thanks,
Clint (2006 ss 2.4L)

they want me to reinstall my stock parts to get an accurate reading. the service tech said that they arent trained for afermarket parts and they cant do anything about it unless part are re installed. i think they are lazy and not very bright. and clint i have the injen intake from a 2.2 liter and it fits perfect.
