Supercharger Kits

Are there actual supercharging kits you can buy for Cobalt SS 2.4L? I've searched and found no kits at all.

Rebelautoworx sells most of the components to install the s/c. i believe the intake manifold and the s/c itself are the two parts they dont supply

u get everything off a redline or ss/sc and buy a couple parts from RAW.. and they also can supply u with a base tune... they even made a list of everything needed to make it work

see this thread...

rebel sells an idler pulley, and they sell an intercooler pump bracket. all the rest of the pieces need to be obtained locally or used, or car-part.com can be your friend. i know it was my friend.

um.....why.....this is a supercharger thread, you use bov's on turbo's and even then there aren't "cobalt" specific bov's.

go with the turbo. turbo is alot better then the super charger. turbo uses air n supercharger use power from the engine

And I don't know of any reputable shops in my new area where I'm going to live to tune my car when I drop pulleys, either. So I'm learning how to tune now lol.

Turbos are exhaust driven not "air driven". Air driven FI is called Ram Air.

no it all depends where u hook it up. we have two drag bike hayabusas n we run it by air bcuz the extra air that u are sucking in is pushing out air thru the exhuast.

well i dont know how bikes work, but with cars air the exhaust gas spins the turbine which powers the compressor. the compressor compresses incoming air, that air goes into the intake manifold to the cylinders, then combustion process takes place. the exhaust gases exit through manifold and it starts over.

sorry about the thread jack.

like everyone else said its mostly used parts

lol that is the second time I’ve heard some one tell me their turbo basically works as some sort of an air magnet .... the other guy told me a SC pushes and a turbo pulls. I laughed for a good 10 er so minuets. Any ways basically a turbo its 2 fans tied together with an axle. The exhaust end of the turbos fan gets pushed by the exhaust gasses which inturn spin the axle connecting the 2 fans thus both the fans causing the other end to suck in out side air and force it into the engines intake.

There is no point in trying to suck out more exhaust its already exploded its just waste however if you can cram more air in you can fake the effects of having a larger displacement engine because you have essentially crammed X amount of times the normal xplosive mix into a smaller volume thus generating more power on ignition.
