tuning a stock 2.4
A custom tune will yield better results than buying a Jet chip, cause a tune can adjust for mods done to the car, while a chip cannot. Yes a tune can be done on a 2.4 in fact alot of 2.4s have been tuned, with the exception of any 2008 2.4 as they 08's have a different PCM.
keep it comin...haha, i just called and cancelled the GMPP manifold i had ordered last week, i hear its not worth the 325 plus installation fees hahaha.
why not just get it tuned up? haha
thanks man, i think im gonna get a high gloss clear coat on the top of the car to keep them a lil more protected.

^ Call Vince at Trifecta if you plan to go the tuning route. He tuned the turbo and it has made an IMMENSE difference. For stock? I can't say, but I can say the man is good and what he does.
The ONLY! reason im getting the chip is cause yes i know the piece of **** chip isnt the best. but my cobalt is my daily driver, all i have. I dont wanna stress my motor/tranny tryin to make it work its hardest when im driving in traffic to work. Plus its installed/removed in like 1min. Im not wanting a full out race car, just alil more hp.

well on the running lean, i have stock s/c injectors lol, so im covered, matter of fact im already throwing a p171 lean code just from my gmpp intake. The motor will adjust for incoming air, its not gonna destroy itself. But sorry too much hp for me=tickets....BAD!
Im set in my ways for the chip and i WILL post the pros n cons of it once ive played with it.

injectors will do absolutly nothing unless you go F/I
Try to have someone HP Tuners tune your car if at all possible. It can address more aspects of your car than any of the other tuning solutions. Also, if you have your car HP Tuners tuned, i'd recommend purchasing all the minor bolt-on's first, then having it tuned. Otherwise, your gonna need a re-tune anyways after you buy like a full exhaust/intake. I put my CAI and my full exhaust on first, and then had it tuned.
If you can't find a confident HP Tuners tuner in your area, then the Trifecta tune would be my next choice.
As for the JET Chip.......its alright, but its not designed for any one specific 2.4SS out there, and you can't even give JET your modifications like (like you can Trifecta) to have to attempt them make it suit your car's needs according to your mods.

a lot of misinformation in this thread. The only path for you to take if the one you are most comfortable with. I would recommend Trifecta, Jet, then HPtuners. In that order unless you find someone that truly knows tuning a car not a friendofmysistersexboyfriend kind of person.

If not, then of course Trifecta or Jet would be the only option.
Also, Vector and Westers have tunes for our cars as well, not that I think anyone even runs them anymore these days.
Well I agree, which is why I said "if you know a confident HP Tuners tuner in your area".
