TWM Came Early (Pics)

I just orderd my TWM Short Throw 2 days ago and it is here alrady. Props to them. Here are some pics of it out of the box. I will probably install it today since its a shitty day and there is nothing else to do but sit in the garage.

I will take pics of the install too, although the instructions of this thing alrady have pics of pretty much everything so it makes no difference.

B&M is ss/sc/f35 transmission only and this is for the F23 transmission that comes with the 2.4 and 2.2 right?

At leasts thats my thoughts since I don't see a reverse lock out.

You got it. The TWN is for the 2.2 and 2.4 Tranny Only. It doe not have the reverse lock out like the ss/sc does.

After looking at the BM one, I don't think I like the look of it anyhow, even if I could use it. I never seen the hurst one though.

Let you know..

I talked to a guy from the TWM place and he told that the SS/SC was in progress should be out in like two months, its in testing phase now. He said it would have the reverse lock on it too. He did not say how much but will come out ASAP. Keep your eyes out. I like this one more because the throw is a little better, as in smaller than the rest of them on here that I saw. This one has a reduction of 38%, I dont remember reading one that was any better than that, but if you know something I dont please let me know. ThanX

Did that not make sense to you guys or am I reading it wrong, lol.

I decided to install tomorrow because my CAI and trut bar will be here tomorrow so I can install the strut bar as well. Plus it was cold out, should be about 70 tomorrow. Which for all you pittsburgh people know that we are having strange weather, lol.

Got it straight from TWM @ www.twmperformance.com

Cost $155 + Shipping. That includes the knob that you see in the picture, they give you a choice of a different knob if you would like. I seemed to like this one the most.

Well I installed my strut bar as well so you guys can see both.

The install was pretty straight forward. Funnest part was using my dremel to cut through the assembly . Worst part was playing that damn boot with the wire tie thing.

It isn't a hard install, just need lots of patience, took me about 2 hours. I also cleaned all the console plastic that I had to take off, figured I might as well since it was all taken apart.

There is definately a difference from the stock, but in the pic you can see that the stock shifter is bent forward a bit, the TWM isn't, so your extending your arm out quite a bit more but it doesn't bother me. Where the stock shifter was in N the TWM is now in 4th, it confused me a bit cause I kept trying to pull down more and was like WTF, its not going into forth, its broken. lol

As for the strut bar, I don't know how people were saying its hard to fit and you end up breaking the bolt. Mine slipped right in and I torqued the bolts at 20 and there was still room to tighten.

Mats are nice for winter, all the salt and snow. I finally cleaned them out, and after all that crap that was on them, my carpet mats would have been ruined.

Holy monkey.. i just installed that shifter in my car tonight.. took me and a buddy about 2 hours. You gotta have time to dedicate to this thing... the instructions kinda are suckey.. but if you have patients it is well worth your time and effort. This shifter rocks.. i have exactly the same one as WSFrazier.I too have the DCSports Strut bar.. was a breeze to slip on. But i decided to go with Injen RAI vs. CAI.. just a matter of preference and ease for me. oh yeah.. btw man.. get rid of that icky plastic all over your beautiful 2.4! its truely a diamond in the rough.. just remove the rough(plastic) lol

I kept the plastic on because I didnt get a chance to install the CAI. It looked worse with no engine cover but that huge black airbox. Once the CAI goes in tomorrow, plastic is gone.

I thought the instructions were pretty good except at the end. It basically say grease the shifter and put everything back together. The End, lol. They could of added more at the end.

Yeah, when I was trying to get the old knob off, I was pulling for dear life and it wouldnt budge so i said hell with it. I went to turn the assemble over to get to the cables and the damn knob just rolled right off.

Then trying to get that little wire tie fed through that hole made me throw a damn screw driver at the ground, lol.
