Typhoon Install?
Typhoon Install?
Getting ready to install the K&N Typhoon sri on my 06 SS/NA and need to ask if I should take out the small black plastic inlet duct/resonator assembly that connects to the bottom of the factory airbox, it is separate from the airbox but connects to it by a plastic tube and sits behind the right tire splash shield. It doesn't mention this in the Typhoon instructions.
You don't have to, but I removed every part of the factory intake. I wont hurt anything staying there but it definitely wont help staying. If you remove it you will understand why I say that.
ive tried to remove it but its a pain in the ass. i didnt notice it really until after i put the intake on also. whats it being held on by, just 2 bolts? i found the one easily when i had my headlights out, but the second seems out of reach
I wasn't sure if it effected the amount of air going to the area of the K&N filter? Since it is called a Fresh air duct/resonator.Thought maybe it brought in more of a flow of air to the area, if I removed it there would just be a hole in the metal under the Filter. I think I will just take it out.
