URGENT!! ZZP header size question.. Help!!

Hey guys.

So, I'm super in need of some info. I seem to have a 1st gen ZZP header/dp combo that I got used. No gaskets. Didn't realize I didn't have a gasket for the header to downpipe piece. Of course the header has a 2 bolt set up instead of the stock 3 bolts. What size gasket do I need? It seems like the new header is like 2.89, but how about the old one? Even if I don't have the exact piece I need, will it still basically work? The bolt sizes are the same, I just need the circle size and overall full diameter. I went to Advance and they didn't have it it seemed like. Trying Pep Boys next. It's on the car so I can't tell. Tried clamping it down hardcore, but it seems like that's where my leak is coming from. Sounds like a dirtbike at throttle. Please please help!! I was down there for 6 hours and now I'm just furious..

Gee thanks guys. Kinda hard to do while I'm at work and my Dad is at the parts store. And how is this a 2.4 specific thing? That's why I put it in general. It's a header/downpipe for all cars. Thus - general.

That was the new version of the combo. The old version had 2 bolts at the header to downpipe flange. Stupid, I know.

i think the enw version does also...but if not, then i guess i have the old version too. Anyway...have your dad do what i said then? or someone at autozone? they'll gladly do it if it means a sale for them. Really though, if its a 3" collector, wouldnt it have to at least be a 3" wide gasket too?

He went to Advance and Pep Boys both - they only had up to 2.5. I know the new style header with 3 holes is 3 inch for sure, but the guy I got it from didn't seem to think it was 3. Regardless, I got some of that high-temp goop stuff. I was told that it makes a descent make-shift gasket. Try that first. If that doesn't work, I'm just taking it to an exhaust shop and having them fit the right damn thing. I was under there all day before work and I'm getting sick of having 2 inches in front of my face to work.

Also, did you guys notice your car being ALOT louder after installing the aftermarket header/dp compared to the factory one? I'm really worried that it's gonna sound like ass. It is a no-cat system right now, but I'm getting a high-flow on soon. Will that help quiet it down any?

Well gee George

Yes.

Catless isn't necessary and all it is doing is making your car sound retarded

It was a used set-up. 200 for a costly combo is a deal I couldn't pass by. So get a high-flow and it'll certainly quiet things down a bit?

And what is the size of the straight piece where I need to get the new cat welded in? Any clue? How's the Magnaflow one? I think it's like 70-80?

header/DP makes the car a LOT louder. it sounds nice and deep and sexy though, but a bit loud for my taste. Im in the market for a quieter catback myself. The cat should quiet it down, and definitely reduce the rasp, just making the exhaust sound even sexier

A cat will make it bearable, and it is more than likely 2.5"
