so if i put the vibrant header/down pipe in my pretty much stock 2.4L, i shouldnt get a CEL, right? i just dont have the time and money to be runnin around trying to get the code fixed or tweak the sensors to work. i also dont want to worry about passing smog here in California.
any one have a simple reply

if you keep some sort of cat, be that high flow or not you shouldn't get a CEL but just b/c you have one doesn't mean you wont get a CEL but it will be less likely.

You may or may not It's kinda up in the air. I know that my catback made my car run really rich. Then I put the header on and it was fine. Went and got it tuned like 2 days later. On the way home from the tuning place is when it actually came on. Probably just took a few days for the new cat to break in and start letting enough pass through for the sensor to pick it up.

im sorry, not good on forum linguo, what does FTW mean?

does any one know the specs (hp gain) on the vibrant header downpipe combo? i think i will purchase it cuz it's some what cheap for both, but i think there are some other headers that are better, both in flow and the coatings to reduce heat.

Thank you all that has posted in this thread. I learn alot from you guys. TurboTechRacing, I will probably get up with you and see what kind of price I can get from you for the Vibrant header/downpipe combo, maybe cut me a little deal or something. Since I got that figured out, are there any good gains with a aftermarket cat-back paired up with the Vibrant combo or would I be fine the stock cat-back & Vibrant combo. I want something that is not LOUD. I want to be STEALTHY, if you catch what I am saying. Oh and also, kevinj4891, FTW stands for: FOR THE WIN.

ARK DT-S is probably the best for stealthy and semi quiet.

I'll check into that Dunkinuts. I also want the best bang-per-buck also. I don't want to be paying a arm & leg and only get like 1-2 horsepower out of it.

As slowswap said ARK does make some really nice exhaust systems. You for sure wouldn't be disappointed as far as gains and quality go. I have the N2 and love it. However it's pretty damn loud and not exactly factory looking so thats where I'd say go DT-S.

thanks.

i have a dual exhaust using a local shop's race mufflers. its kinda of mellow until you get on it, then it sounds like a great 6 cyl. i'm planning on gettting the vibrant header/dp combo cuz of pricing. wonder how it may change the sound. see my vGarage for pics of my tips (dual exhaust). its a y-pipe split over the rear axle. fits "like a glove" and makes it sound great...not like rice.

thanks for all the great info on the previous postings

of course the GMPP is quite and looks stock... it is stock. they take a stock header and extrude hone it. thats it. and the thing i heard about the GMPP extrude honed... is that it is not that great. its too much money for not enough gain. it only flow up to 7% better, but other than that, nothing. no ceramic coating or other things to make it better.
