This thread is awsome..... I put on an intake and an torque dampner and it added 1000hp. The air flow through the huge stickers and spoiler I put on also added 55 horse. I run an 8 sec 1/4 now. With all the mods available for the 2.4 out there you will only get 30hp tops. People who think that a K& N drop in adds horse power are a joke. I am running an intake, cat back, downpipe, header, highflow muffler and cat an nitrous and I can still get killed by a lot of the cars out here. If you want to make these things fast.. forced induction is the only way to go. Sorry for the rant

eber, dont forget neons..they add 100hp.

plus a quad turbo and supercharger settup would be awesome.

like, 1 turbo for each cylinder, then add the procharger settup...

youd be pushing like...wow.

youd go put put...until about 30mph...then it'll kick in like crazy.

plus those new exhaust pieces they got out that make your car sound like they have a turbo that go "WOOOO WOOOOOO" add hp!

Yeah they are like $2 at Starship, I put 2 on my friends Lexus. And I highly doubt you could only get 30hp tops. You can get 30hp from an intake, catback, and tune alone. Not to mention other things like cams, header, downpipe, injectors. Maybe a 1.0L would get only 30hp but definitely not a 2.4. Sorry for the rant. As for the K&N drop-in I completely agree, I know 2 people like that.

everyone says that they get those types of gains but there is no solid proof. I have yet to dyno but I think I may have a little less than 30hp from all my mods. The gearing in these things don't help either. 1st gear is good if you rev the **** out of it but second and third are dogs. IE) Need torque...thus enter forced induction.

The big difference between the two RSX's. The Type S has a higher flowing exhaust manifold, free'er exhaust, and it has VTEC lobes on both cams. Whereas the K20z only has it on the exhaust, the engagement of VTEC on the K20z is a lot less severe and un-noticeable. K20a uses more agressive cams and some more agressive tuning, the CR rates are different. You have to use 91 or above whereas on the K20z you can just run 87 without running the risk of detonation. I belive the K20a has a 12:1 CR, I don't know the K20z but I know its a lot lower. The K20a has a hella better flowing head, bigger ports, better valves, springs, retainers, more agressive cams, higher rev limit, selenoids for VTEC on both the exhaust and intake side making it a mean motor to be reckoned with.
