Ok to make a long story short I had to take my CA header off to replace the gasket. Well now when i put this bitch back on it seems to be resting on the coolant tube that runs from the water pump. It is just driping ever so lightly, no matter what i try to do it still seems to put pressure on the pipe. I know there is a o-ring that seals the tube to the thermo housing. Has any one else ran into this or is it just me. Any help or ideas would be great.

I did get a "recall" notice about coolant leaks. what year is your cobalt?

 

hmm havent had that problem...

 

I think some of us had this problem with this header....I twisted my coolant line a little and kinda made a small dent on the #4 tube where it would touch it. A local buddy rubbed a whole thru his line so you might wanna make sure it isn't touching.

 

i had the same problem i had to heat the header an dent it quitea bit 4 it not to touch...

 

Heat pffft...just get a 3lb ball pein and your good

 

i havent had a problem with the header...woot i guess for me

 

me and my dad ran into this problem also, just a few days ago... i havnt had a chance to take the header back off so i fill the coolent tank up about once a day until i can... would bending the #4 tube, take power away, or would it not make a difference??

 

u talon..i got u a nice gift..when ur uncle comes down..WOOT...yo i havent had any problems with kenny's header...only problem io had..was installin it..the temp coolant on the dic was not displayed..a few days later..it comes back...

 

I've had a low coolant light come on in cold weather................What recall did you get????

 

The header is just putting pressure on the o-rings and causing it to leak.

To rotate the coolant crossover tube, you must bend the locking tab on the drivers side out. Then it will rotate freely.

 

Do you have any gauges or anything you might have done to the fuses? Cause I have the same problem from time to time and it was because of when I hooked my gauges up I kinda stuck the wire inline with the fuse prong and fuked it up and now it gets a shitty connection.

 

I ran into this during the turbo install. Luckily HAHN/Garrett posted this in the instruction manual.


Basiclly, that water tube (metal "U"ish shaped tube behind the motor), on one side of it, there is a metal tab sticking straight up through a slot.


I took a long flathead wrench, put it on there. beat on it with a hammer to make it flat.

Once the flap is down flat, you can now twist the metal tube to make room.
