What can a 2.4L sport beat?

I'm just curious as to what my current 2.4L auto sport can beat? 171 hp. No clue on torque. All i know is that I can run Civics into the ground.

Also, what mods can I do to an auto? I'm more about the aesthetics than performance but having some minor bolt ons wouldn't be bad.

intake, exhuast and a good tune will work nicely. For the most part, 90% of N/A 4 bangers this car will beat and a good number of V6's.

the only manageable thing I found accomplishing was beating an old mitsubishi spyder a few weeks ago. Started from a 40 roll.

Where can i get a tune exactly? Haha, im one of those morons who will race when invoked but has no idea what he is doing. Yet I still want to learn about everything.

being auto isn't going to help your speed case, but you are in the area of a mid 15 or so as it stands right now. the 2.4L LE5 have a really good mid range (think 30-80mph). With the stand mods (bolt ons) you can get you auto in to the high 14s or ultra low 15s

I was looking at re-doing the whole exhaust, downpipe, etc. Im not asking for godly changes. Just small stuff to get my modding career off to a start. I have the money to stick a supercharger in it but i want to learn how to install and tune stuff myself. Weird...I know...

I would have gotten a manual but since I was being put on my dads insurance (cheaper) he made me get an auto...so he could drive it if need be. Which he hasn't still.

Btw, what is an LE5? I have seen it a few times now but still don't know exactly what it means.

You're a stock auto? You have not under any circumstance run a new Civic into the ground.

I never said new. Haha, I know better than that. Especially against the Si's. I have only raced against a few friends a 2 random people driving old civics from 2000 or under. Told ya, my most accomplished task was winning against a Spyder. I don't even know how that happened....Hell, my dads Acura MDX can kill me once it gets rolling enough.

You'll easily take the new Civic in non-Si trim.

I haven't raced anything newer than 2005. My friend and I messed around with his 05 Dodge Neon. That is the newest car I have run against.

im not going out, looking to run against Corvettes, or the cops new Chargers, just messing with friends or if someone in a car next me wants to race and I know I can win. That's basically it.

I just want to learn about mods and how to become more efficient at it.

not entirely true, i raced a 2008 si bone stock and i have the K&N typhoon intake. we raced from a dig to 70 and i beat him by the nose of my car. when we raced from a 40 roll he beat me all 3 times from anywhere from 1/2 a car to a little more than a full car. there was one time my car didn't shift to third i don't know what happened it just super lagged it was weird. but we raced from 40 to about 90-100

I said NON-Si trim. Can you read?

5-spd 2.4 vs the Si is a worthy race, as is evident in your story.

Nope, can't read at all tonight. Never even saw the "NON" part. I blame it on my damn head cold. Haha. Anyways, Would it be worth it to supercharger this thing or just stick to the basics? (Exhaust, etc)

*Edit* Didnt even notice your previous statement was towards Xander, not me. I am really out of it tonight.

Lol it's alright. 240-250 whp or more can be had with a supercharger from the SS Supercharged, which will make your car roughly as fast as an SS Turbocharged. But that's a fairly advanced build (I'm looking at that for my 2.4 as well but I don't know near enough to attempt it at this point). Exhaust and what not are a good start because they'll be nice supporting mods for a forced induction build down the road.

Alright, I will stick with the exhaust for now. What should I be looking for exactly in terms of exhausts and downpipes? And any certain sites I should order them from? I really am clueless....

2.5" catback, no bigger then 2.5" downpipe, stick with catted, get a header and downpipe combo from zzp and caback from who ever, check the modifications thread for videos and soundclips

theres alot of fucked up things with the 2008 sport, and you wont know about them unless you own the car and do alot of intensified modding. theres many differences from the previous year LE5's

Yea, I heard that i don't want to go bigger than 2.5in. My 2.5 looks fine now. Im already looking at the catbacks. Haha, im not obsessed or anything >_>

And if superchargers are that hard to put into a cobalt, I might just give it to my friend to do and pay him. He did stick a turbo in his supra + nos.
