What do injectors do?

Sorry for this question guys, im kinda new to this whole car deal, but ive heard alot of talk about buying the 2.0L injectors for our 2.4's. I just don't understand the point of buying them as well as how it helps our cars. Like, what kind of power comes from this and what is required to install these? Thanks again.

Fuel injectors supply the cylinders with fuel. The larger the size of the injector (lbs/hr) the more fuel that can be delivered.

Injectors are designed to open and close rapidly at each intake stroke, the PCM comands a certain amount of fuel depending on engine load. If the ending under full load cannot get enough fuel due to the injectors being to small power will suffer.

They don't give you more power, they just allow your modified engine to get the fuel it needs to make power.

also keep in mind that you can't just put in injectors, you need to tune for them as well. simply swapping your injectors won't do anything, and won't add any power. you use bigger injectors when the ones that you have can't deliver enough fuel

when the injector duty cycle is above 80%, basically means when they get to the point where they have to nearly stay open the whole time to deliver enough fuel they should be changed out for larger ones.

As stated above the new injector size must be calibrated into the PCM or they will not work properly.

A stock LE5 is deep in the 80s-90s idc...some say there is a gain to be had with bigger injectors on a stock set up...with tuning of course...

i think it would benefit you almost as much as the gm stage 1 kit does for the ss s/c.

gm stage 1 includes larger fuel injectors, and a tune. no additional parts.
there are gains to be had. i'm not exactly sure what wiring harness you need to use them, but i think its a cavalier 2.2L harness.
