TCM is Transmission computer, PCM is powertrain computer, ECM is engine computer,

most cars have 3 computers,

TCM, ECM, BCM

where bcm is the body computer, all of them comunicate with each other

if you are auto getting a shift kit/tune for the TCM is a nice help. manual it is useless. the PCM/ECU is interchangable depending on what that manufactor wants to call things.

TCM-Transmission Control Module
PCM-Powertrain Control Module
ECM-Engine Control Module

The best to upgrade is by far the ECM.
"Getting a tune"-->"upgrading" the engine's "brain" --> ECM.
Significant power gains depending on your application and power adders.

Not off of the top of my head..are you looking to get a tune for the 2.4?
If you are, I wouldn't suggest getting a tune while you're stock.
