Browsing the wiki, they had 2 2.4 lE5 listed under the cobalt, the 06 model was rated at 171, the 07+ were rated at 173.

Where did they pick up the extra 2 hp? intake or exhaust change? tune?

Just kinda curious is all.

 

actually its only the 2008 cobalt. they also changed the name to the cobalt sport.

 

Tune, they added sai and a secondary cat then changed the tune slightly.

I have dual cats. but no sai.

But the 08s do seem to perform stronger than 06-07's but the rotating assemblies arent as strong sadly

 

everybody has 2 cats.

You wouldnt feel the 2 hp difference anyway

 

How is the rotating assembly not as strong? I thought that all the Le5's are identical internally

 

my old 07 2.4 was rated for 173hp and only had 1 cat....i still have the window sticker for it if you want proof

 

my 06 is 171 HP and has 1 cat. i know it was the 08+ that had the 173 HP.ot sure on the cat situation

 

My 2012 LE5 is listed at 169.

 

There where 2 cats when I took my off. And GM went with a non forged. But only some did.

 

This is not right. They shafted you.

Because it does feel under powered with 169.
