It will most likely bolt up to the intake, but I don't think you will be able to retrofit the "drive by wire" to that TB.

I based my assumption on the photo they had of the TB. But apparently the Ion 2.4L also has ETC (electronic throttle control) so the TB should also work on the Cobalt 2.4L. I sent them an email asking about it. Let you know when I find out.

If you look... there is one for the Ion 2006 2.4L.... that one will fit (obviously)... but what about fitting an intake back onto that?

I got the same answer from him when I e-mailed him... I just want to know if an after market intake will mount back up to the new throttle body with no problems... I know it will fit on to the engine.

I'm sure a aftermarket intake will still fit cuz the TB is just bored out. and for about 150bucks I think it will be a great upgrade.

what size is our stock throttle body b/c i couldn't help but laugh when I installed my SRI. I looked at my throttle body and compared it to the GTO's and i was like aww look, it's so cute and tiny......i know they're not in any way comaprable but i found it pretty funny that the cobalt's could fit into the throttle body of the GTO and then some

I own a '06 black SS 2.4. I installed a B/M short throw shifter last weekend...Well worth the cost! I would appreciate any performance mod info you guys have. Is the DC strut bar worth the price and what about the Injen CAI? Thanks.

I think the strut bar and Injen CAI are good buys gives the engine bay some eye candy and some performance.

Intake and strut bar are definately worth the money...

I'll keep this throttle body in mind too... if anyone gets one let's see how it does....

My friend had a 93 Civic VX hatchback at his house for awhile. It was a prts car for his 92 Si hatchback. The throttle body was exposed. It was honestly barely big enough for my finger. And I'm by no means fat. I just thought it was funny. How the hell they even made 90 hp with that is beyond me.

I know, however, that large throttlebodies are a very good upgrade. I actually asked about this awhile back. Guys with 3.8 Chevys use Northstar ones all the time...
