Exclamation ZZP Camshafts

I have been looking at these for the 2.4, but ZZP has yet to post gains from this product. Why anyone would be tempted to buy it without knowing what it will do is beyond me. I have no idea why ZZP doesn't post up more info about this product. Just wondering if anyone has them or has found a dyno sheet? I have searched on here with no success.

I'd imagine all your asking for is a baseline of a stock 2.4 and then another 3 runs of the 2.4 w/ their cams. I wouldn't think that's much to ask for considering who they are.

The absence of hard data is puzzling.

Yeah, that would be ideal. I'm gonna email them, but I just wanted to know if there was anyone on here that had them, and what their opinion was.

ZZP Camshafts Installed

I installed these a few months ago and was grinning ear to ear I am really satisfied with the power at about 4k+. Before the cams the car felt flat in the upper rpms, but it really came alive after the install. I do not have dynos, but I do have hpt tuning logs showing big gains:

These are 2nd gear pulls in my LE5/F23 supercharged HHR:

30-55mph 3.1sec 3.1" no cams 11.5afr

30-55mph 2.6sec 3.1" cammed 11.5afr

30-55mph 2.3sec 2.9" cammed/LS4 TB 11.7afr

30-62mph 3.1sec 2.9" cammed/LS4 TB 11.7afr

I wish I had 30-60 pulls but I was only revving 6800 prior to cams and that redlined me at 57mph. I waited to rev 7200 after cams and springs and now I am redlining @ 63mph. Anyway as you can see that is a huge difference.

I might have to get these for me. I'm thinking cams LSJ ported TB and nitrous. For some fun. How would they do for a daily driven car?

For a daily driver I think this would be the best mod. It will run and sound normal. You don't even need to tune your car with these(though I would). On my test run I was just a little rich, but it drove just like it did before the install. If you get your car tuned you can average the same or better fuel economy and still have the serious punch the cams provide. I averaged 31.5mpg in my hhr @ 73mph(300 mile trip today), but I am pushing a lot more air and pulling more weight than a Cobalt.

I did the job myself in under 6 hours (cams, springs) and it was my first time.

There could be one thing that may be needed though: count on injectors with these if you have intake and exhaust. I really don't see the stock injectors keeping up in the upper rpms as people are maxing them with bolt ons. ZZP has 33# inj on their website.

You'll either have to wait for dyno numbers from ZZP or another member to compare and make the call or take the word of a happy user

I am SC though, but regardless it was a very noticeable increase. I think it is worth the price(+springs) especially if you're doing the install yourself.

I emailed ZZP and asked what gains should be expected from these camshafts. They said 10whp. I don't know if they are just underselling what there actually is so people are happy when they get more or if 10whp is actually what you get. By the sound of it from other members that have them, it seems to increase more that 10WHP. Please correct me if I am wrong.

That does seem like an understatement, but it is hard for me to chime in since I am supercharged. The gains must be much higher in a boosted application. There is no way 10whp changed the acceleration the way these cams did unless I was suffering from super bad valve float as well. But I don't think anybody is getting valve float @10psi/6800rpms.
