2871R.......how much boost can the engine take?
i have a 2871R turbo on my SS TC now and was wondering how much boost the stock engine/internals can hold......seems to do well at 24/25 psi
The car seems to rear it's ugly "I don't have enough fuel" head at around 400whp or so.
I would be willing to be that 30psi is doable... but if your having fuel issues now you will prolly **** it off more with more boost.
Throwing more octane at it just allows more timing and power... but it doesn't change the issue that we don't have control over the injectors and or injector pressure and timing.
I would go and just run with it... you'll know when you are out of fuel, it'll go CRAZY lean at the higher rpm areas. Just back it down from there untill you can make it safe to drive everyday.
But untill we get the fueling system unlocked there isn't much we an do except sit back and wait!
