CR difference between .040 and .027" head gasket

I know that the LSJ stock head gasket is .027" thick when compressed, but whats the compression difference if I go to a .040" thickness gasket used on the L61 (2.2)

The only reason why I ask is I want to know how much difference there is, because I'm building a L61/LSJ and I need to know which compression pistons to get within the static CR I want to be in

dont quote me on this because i have no math in front of me to go by but if should put you around 9.0 (if youre using stock 9.5:1 pistons on the lsj) i will find some calculations later n give you a better number but you may need a compression test for an x in the math... im not sure

~0.3 point in CR

I think the head cc are different themselves too between L61 and LSJ, so might be a bit more difficult to get a conclusion

i was giving a rough estimate of .5 but you seem a bit closer than i do but still like we both say, lsj to l61 comparison n sizes to be used in equations is needed for an answer

Go to this page and use the compression ratio calculator.....just change the gasket thickness to see the results:
