Est. HP from Water/Meth injection

Hey, I'm just curious and had a quick question. I'm adding a water/meth injection kit this week and I'm curious what kind of horsepower gains people have had from adding this. Mine is a custom kit I put together. I have a 150 psi pump, 200cc nozzle and my boost switch is set for 8 psi. I currently have 3" pulley, airbox mod and some zex plugs. I'll be running a 50/50 mix of water/methanol. I've heard of gains as high as 60 hp to the wheels on a turbo eclipse, with a similar kit to mine.

I'm curious if anyone on here has water/meth injection and has a fairly accurate guess as to how much hp they gained.

Thanks

you could get a lot of hp but if you dont get a proper tune most of the hp will be lost

zero hp gained.

why?

water/meth does not add hp. it simply gets you the hp back you lost due to knock, and then without messing with the afr. you will lose hp. found that out first hand

I was going to say, you get nothing in and of itself from it. The biggest benefit comes from being able to tune it properly.

Without tuning, the only likely gain you would see is that your IAT2 temps would decrease giving you cooler airflow. The methanol/water injection's key point is all in the tuning and allowing you to increase timing for more power. It will also lower your injector duty cycles just a bit too.

it is
but it also has some ambiguity, because your tuning ASIDE from the meth, is a factor in giving you such nice WHP too....

i guess a good question would be.....area how much WHP do you think you would lose if you didnt spray meth. (ignoring the fact that your 42's wouldnt like it just for the sake of the question)

i have water/meth and you gain very minimal if everything from just the injection. Essentially your cooling the air so its like adding a SRI on it. (Keep reading). You will gain minimal on it. However if your running say 12 psi w/o water/meth and everything is safe inside the engine you will be able to take that 12 to maybe 16-18psi (again with tuning) so in essence you will feel the distance. So maybe 30-40 hp but your motor is still safe.

id lose a minimum of 10 hp. depending on the dyno.
it is safe to say the way my car sits right now, 15 hp easy can be lost with the way i have it tuned. id have to richen it up, and take about 10 degree's of timing out of it.

id spit out the numbers, but it would make people angry.

anyone that can help out here, i have similar questions... can i hook up a meth kit and have it running before getting a tune? i was thinking of buying a kit, getting it running, then going to get tuned... also i'd like to see/hear more testimonials of the kind of gains you could expect with a GOOD tune on 60's and 2.8"
