Question Exhaust

I have a 2005 ss/sc and would like to change out the muffler only. What size is the inlet for the muffler ? I was thinking of magnaflow muffler but i don't want it to sound like a mini bike or a rice rider.

I personaly think magnaflow is ricy sounding. U prob want a resy under there too. I think its 2.25 in but if u get a mesuring tape and holx it next to the pipe it should tell u.

You just showed me youv never heard one.

OP:
Magnaflow is known to be one of the least ricey sounding mufflers there is. I have a 2 1/4 inlet/outlet 5x8 straight through magnaflow muffler in place of the stocker and it is the deepest exhaust iv heard on a LSJ and has no rasp. And surprising not even that loud.

I beg to differ... I've heard the magnaflow muffler and it sounds pretty ricey AND raspy (TO ME)...

I researched sounds for so long before going with mine and I love it haha.

Nothing against magnaflow. They're a good company.

I'd choose an exhaust from GMPP if you're looking for a deep tone.. Not TOO loud.. And zero raspiness..

Just my opinion.

Here's a video I've got. I'm using a GMPP Performance Cat-back.. You can get the Touring version of it which is just basically a little more quiet. I chose the louder one.

I'm going to do the same thing your doing but i've decided on the Dynomax superturbo muffler, as i'm going for a very mellow tone thats not much louder than stock.

whoever had it installed probably had a leak. I've done plenty of installs on cobalts, and magnaflow is about the least raspy/ricy exhaust there is.

2 1/4 or 2 1/2.

I got one without a tip and had the shop put one on. The muffler was $80 and i think i paid $40 to have the stocker cut off and the magnaflow welded on.
