It was my decision to do it this way. when you tap the stock rail (as shown in ravenss pic) its not good for fuel flow. its basically seperating the rail into 2 parts, half of it is a return system the other have is a returnless system. Its a flawed system and it will really start to show on higher hp cars.

and If people are intrested in the fitting post up and I will see what kind of intrest there is. I'm currently working on becoming a vendor for the site. When i'm a vendor (a week or two away) they will be for sale

Is anyone actually running an aftermarket fuel rail? I tried ordering one from Saturn Motorsports, but, even though they are still listed on their site, they are discontinued and no longer available. I'm considering making one myself.

Just so all of you know GM Racing does it both ways.

Do it however you feel most comfortable.

Keeping my eye on this interesting fuel rail stuff. I hope it works well, so I might be able to do it in the future. Great work gentlemen!

one more problem with this system, much like the stock system is if water or any contaminants get past the fuel filter(which they do) they will sit right on number 4 and clog that injector.

I looked for a Bosch 040 to fit in the tank but I think they are quite a bit bigger then the Walbro. Anyone have specs on the 040? I know it's a bit shorter then 044 but probably still too long.

look below.

if you want to jump up another notch look at the bigger areomotives or a decent Weldon.

heres a good comparison.

if you look rite around the 80psi mark you can see that not only is the walbero at least ~40lph behind the others(more then 50 when compared to the 044) but it dies off much quicker....80psi is rite around 18-20psi worth of boost......not all that much.

keep your factory intake unit, run an 044 inline and call it a day!

But the 044 is so damn loud

Intank would be quieter, which will keep the wife happier.

is that a graph of a 255 intank or external? and thats exactly what i would expect from a bosch 044. they are rated at what 340 lph? of course its gunna outflow a walbro. a more accurate test would be a intake bosch 040 vs. a walbro 255. I have a feeling they would be damn close. 80psi is the peak i would ever run on injectors, and then only if i had to, they're just not reliable at that pressure. also how many cars on here can honestly say one 255 intank isnt enough fuel? why over fuel, your just heating the gas up.

adding on to that. i can get 2 intank walbros cheaper then one 044 and they will fit in the stock bucket. I also have to question your graph from jayracing.com, I'm not saying the 044 doesnt beat the 255, im just saying it looks sketchy. but below as you can see 2 walbros are cheaper and flow more fuel then a 044. I vote twin 255's intank, they win in flow, price, and reliability in my book( i prefer intank anyday to inline)
