Why does everyone want to do the LNF versus LSJ thing, when it should be the LNF & LSJ versus everyone else thing? I personally am very intrigued with the idea of using an LNF engine minus turbo with the R1320. Additional fuel could be added via a seperate port injection setup.

I've been stuck at work 12+ hours a day, 6 days a week and my car has been out of commission for a few months...

Simple answer, yes.

With the TVS, it has two big things up on the m62. Its got the higher efficiency, plus the added capacity with more air moving through it per rev. I definitely see more than a 20whp gain from this all else equal. You might see 15whp just from the efficiency difference.

So there will be no space issue with this in the engine bay of our SS/SC Cobalts? It looks very nice and well designed.

I concur.

Anyways, a question for Harrop. I see on Eaton's website, the R1320's efficiency chart shows efficiency past the 17,000 rpm mark. Has Eaton passed on to you how fast the 1320 is capable of spinning for extended periods of time?

Based on Engine RPM how can you calculate the S/C's RPM this way I know what size pully I want to be aiming for

There is a rough formula that you can use that gets that about as close as possible. Now this is for the m62, but I'm sure it will be very similar to the formula for the r1320.

crankshaft pulley (6.25) x engine rpms (whatever rpm of the engine that you want to know where the supercharger's rpms are) / (divided by) pulley size of supercharger = supercharger's rpm.

Example: Lets find the supercharger's rpms at the engine's 7000rpms of a stage 2 car.

6.25 x 7000 = 43750 / 3 = 14583rpms or roughly 14,500 rpms

Example: Lets find the supercharger's rpms at the engine's 7000rpms of a 2.8 pullied car.

6.25 x 7000 = 43750 / 2.8 = 15625rpms or roughly 15,600 rpms

Info: the M62's MAX continuous rpms is 16,000rpms

Example: Lets find the supercharger's rpms at the engine's 7000rpms of a 2.7 pullied car.

6.25 x 7000 = 43750 / 2.7 = 16,203rpms or roughly 16, 200rpms (as in you shouldn't be revving your car this high with this small of a pulley or any smaller pulley.)

There ya go, glad I could help.

Actually, the blower spins up to ~14,250rpm at redline in a stage 2 car. Remember, the pulley is closer to 3.1" then 3" (~3.07").

is this the "stage 3" that we expected from GM and never got?

I sure hope so

2. What are the options on powder-coating? I want to powder-coat mine but I have a design for it involving 2 colors. Is that possible or can I get it un-coated and have a local shop do it?
3. Is the estimated price including shipping to the US or is that extra?
1 - I doubt that anything out there will be interchangable. We will be offering at least 3 pulley sizes as upgrade options.
2 - We will only be shipping in one colour. However ... we will offer other colours on a pay-in-advance, all-care-no-responsibility and it-takes-as-long-as-it-takes basis. . I suggest that if you try powdercoating the unit after machining it will be destroyed. (These are machined to a tighter tolerance than the OE M62).
3 - The estimated price is including shipping to the USA, ready for dispatch from our Michigan warehouse.

I gotta say it ... you are definately on drugs (or heat) if you think a sub-3-litre engine can cope with an HTV2300 supercharger .
I have an HTV2300 on my built 6.6 litre LS2, with a 225/235@116 cam, 9.3:1 CR & all the other goodies I can get/build ... it runs at ~15psi as I have slowed the HTV2300. It pulls about 650rwhp (over 750 at the flywheel), and the HTV2300 is not working hard yet.
We are now building a wild 427ci (7.0ltr)

70mm (~2.75") but I doubt too many engines will be capable of surviving that much puff.

Part of the durability testing we have done on all our HTV range is "extended abuse" mode on our in-house and Eaton-certified Test Cell.
We have run our Generic HTV1320 at 8,000rpm to 22,000rpm for 100 continuous hours, cycling the bleed valve (boost controller) from 5psi - 25psi every few minutes (its actually a lot more complicated than that).
We have not had any failures while durability testing.

This is totally independant of GM (or any other entity).
Having said that, it would not have happened if we had not been made aware of the need by the guys at Eaton. (Cheers to Eaton!).

ooooo this keeps getting better.

price is shipped!!!! NOICE!
I love how much more efficient this thing sounds than our M62.

I know its not GM hehe. im reffering to the fact that cobalt owners expected a stage 3 from GM equivalent to what our SRT4 brothers got.

IE a $3000 major F/I swapout pushing us comfortably over 300whp.
we got a 1/2 pound of boost and a PCM ready for a 50shot

so this might be the holy grail that GM let us down on

Opps ... Sorry "Raven SS".
(I have had a few emails from individuals wanting "bigger than 1320").

Mmmm, this is nice. So we will be getting a gain, a significant one at that, and it will take mods a lot better than the m62. mmm, i like gains.

Then heck,w e don't even need to get uber small on pullies to get power. Hmm, do i see many more balts safely over 300whp-320whp.

This may take over the twinscrew area quite the bit!

so a 2.75 would be too much for our engines? that seems good to me

i'm soooo excited, i can't wait to see what numbers people put down with these, planning on keeping my car stored for about 3 more months, but i plan to jump on it as soon as i get money anyways.

I live in Michigan too, wondering if there could be any change in price for a pickup, or if these were only to be shipped.
