improved throttle reponse

As everyone knows, the throttle response in the ss/sc is about a half second delay. Does anybody have opinions on how to or what to use to improve this problem? i have yet to see anything on this subject so if you do have any suggestions please respond or pm me. Thanks

Use HPTuners and tweak the TPS settings

a port/polish of things like the TB, or anything rough in the intake. a tune also helps, not just HPtuners.

junkyards carry great selections of TBs, 1000 grit then 2000 grit to polish it up works great, then clean the hell out of it.

if you get the ls4 TB, you need a tune regardless, not only HPtuners tunes these cars well. I noticed between porting and polishing and tuning, I have as little lag as possible without head work, which is coming as soon as possible.

First, porting the TB has nothing to do with throttle response

Here are a list of things that matter

1. Calibration of pedal position to throttle position, if you log it, you see they have different rates during rapid transients. I dont believe it is possible to change the PID's for the throttle in HP tuners..

2. Spark and fuel, getting the air is only a small part. Primary item will be making sure spark isnt being retarded during quick bursts. Also, when tuning avoid super rich or super lean spikes

3. Volume in the system after the throttle and after the SC, "the smaller the better" for response. Although this isnt the LSJ's problem

The LS4 throttle body opens just as fast as stock, but the curve of mainfold pressure to throttle position is different. You would gain the same benefit if you could calibrate the pedal position to throttle position curves..

Porting just reduces restriction at the highest flow rates. meaning that porting and polishing your TB will not benefit you if its not causing restriction to begin with. Let me ask this.. what pressure drop are you guys seeing across the stock throttle body?
