need some advice from you metal fab guys

Hey guys I need some insight on tubing, specifically DOM. I'm looking to fabricate a roll cage and am unsure what size material to go with. I'm a Jeep guy gone sport compact. I'm used to using 1 5/8 .120 wall for structural projects. Now on something like the cobalt is that overkill? Or should i step up the OD, wall thickness, or both?

Stick with the 1 5/8ths 0.120 - I wouldn't go less than that. I buy the sticks in bulk due to all my projects. I still have a few sticks left over and would never use anything less than that.

If you have a bender that you used for your stock on the jeep, why waste the money to switch to a different bender die.

Stick with what you know works...

Just my $0.0000000000002 worth.

Perfect. I just wanted to make sure. I agree completely with you as far as sticking with what you know works. Thanks.

If you are putting the roll cage in for safety regulations for racing you might wanna check that the regulations require.
