And my mods on my sig. Goal is 350-400WHP.

My first stage is: Reading Which means learning about mods, parts, equations, CFM etc. I downloaded the GM handbooks. Also, this stage includes planning, and budgeting. Please, bear with me, I'm an Electrical Engineer, so I don't have that much skill has the people on this site.

Second stage: Getting in shape my old 1986 toyota. Cobalt is my DD so I can't start mods until I have a backup car to drive to work. Someone suggested me once to put a 2JZ motor on it. :-D Also, I'm waiting for tax return so money is coming eventually.

Third Stage: Complete planning, budgeting. Which means, a complete list of parts, part numbers, vendors. Logistics: what to do first, that is, best route for mods economically speaking.

I will be slowly updating this thread, so feel free to add comments.

For each part you guys suggest, I will be putting a list of the parts and the name of the poster.

Power Race Parts suggestion- Do research :cssNET:

1. pecorillif - mid length to long tube header
2. Turbo Tech Racing (Vendor) - Upper Engine Mount and STOP Transmission Bushings
3. omnigear - Powell Rotated mounts
4. alleycat58 - ZZP header
5. sjc0013 - heat exchanger
6. rootbeer - phenolic spacer
7. rootbeer - 80 mm pulley
8. rootbeer - Griffin HE
9. jgarciarivera - ZZP 3" CAI
10. jgarciarivera - LS4 TB

Got it, added to the parts list. Thanks

the real question is Aaron, is ita bushel on the cob or shelled? Lol a sad attempt at a joke I know, but Ive grown up on a farm and handled a bushel of corn in both those ways.

What size pulley are you planning to run? If you don't have access to E85 you're going to need meth [EDIT: or some other way to add lots and lots of cooling] to be able to run enough timing to hit those numbers.

This is my car:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/dyno...5-dyno-246633/

Have since added a ZZP header, but did not re-dyno. Car needs some more work first. Bad coilpack makes it sad panda right now, but I have house mods to do first.

sjc0013 01-18-2012 09:29 PM

Definitely a heat exchanger, unless I missed that and you already have one lol

RooTBeeR 01-19-2012 04:14 AM

<dual pass, option b, long tube, K&N cone filter, bkr7e, 60's, tvs(80mm), 93...needs more timing in the low-mid range but so far making around 275hp 235tq

i need a phenolic spacer

Yeah, the phenolic spacer is a must. You're referring to a 80mm TVS pulley right?

I guess I will be starting with the default pulley 3.1" to create a base dyno pull. Following a 2.9" and finally a 2.7". Parts will be installed prior the 2.9" pulley (cooling, etc).

About Meth, well, we'll see what happens.

yeah
Progress, there's more in there though...
(blue line is m62 3.35" pulley, boost is so high in all of these pulls because of ~30.0X barometer) a few days ago, it was ~29.4 and boost was only 19.3 @ 7200rpm

if you dont want/cant run race gas/e85 and want that much power you need meth, just get the zzp blower spacer that has two 1/8" npt's for meth/extra vac/boost line or just plugged
