Performance/no Tune?

Alright I had a question about what performance mods are safe before having to get a tune.? (i know i'll fully benefit from the tune but I'm just wondering)
Like if I get a 3" pulley, spark plugs, and 42lbers is that safe?
Just wonder'n what will be safe without a tune.
thanks guys.

no that will require a tune...you can sneek by with a full exhaust and maybe an intake before you need e tune, but thats pushing it

i've heard of ppl running a 3" pulley with stock injectors and a good set of properly gapped spark plugs but i wouldnt call it "safe" <<stage kits require tunes

most of that isnt performance...the meth you can be conservative but w/o a tune you won't see a real performance gain...you'll just see colder IAT2s...the full exhaust an CAI is ok to run w/o a tune definitely...you'll just throw a 0420 CEL that is because of the high-flow cat but when you get your tune done you can get that code deleted off your pcm so it won't bring on your CEL anymore

Exhaust and intake are fine without a tune. You can do a pulley swap without a tune, but the stock injectors probably won't fair good. If you swap out the injectors you HAVE to get a tune.

Of course like you said before, to get the full amount out of any mod you really need to get a tune for anything.

being cheap about things is a very quick way of finding out how to rebuild an engine.

i wrote nothing about a pulley....you will make your stock injectors go wayyy static....and static injectors are not good...pluse since they are static your leaning out your engine alot...put it this way....our stock injectors are 34lb stage 2 is 42lb injectors.....a 3.0 pulley and good tune with the 42lb injectors..they are pretty much max'd out...borderline from going static on that 3.0 pulley....IMAGINE what kind of stress your putting on your engine and injectors being that overly Static because you thought you were gaining hp...<<enjoy it while it lasts

stock injectors+ 3.0 pulley and no tune=SSSTTTTAAATTIICCCC ouch!!
42lb injectors+3.0 pulley and tune= max'd out <<with a 2.9 pulley you go static

yea im pretty sure with stock pulley and injectors we have a 120-130 IDC @ 6500 RPM.

Best to not play with a smaller pulley.

CAI and full exhaust. Any other performance/engine parts I would get a tune.
