Problems with GM neutral balance shafts?

I hope this is in the right section, may be able to go to tuning section?

But... I installed the GM neutral balance shafts and timed my motor put it all together and all and im gettin knock retard, the sensor is constantly detecting knock but I pulled off the cover, checked the car and it was still in time. so that got me a little unsure of what was going on?

so basically i am asking anyone that installed the neutral shafts if they had this problem or if they know anything about what may be going on with the car?

How do you go about tuning the car with this? Desensitize the knock sensor? (dont want to do that) Adjust threw the computer to not try to adjust so much timing around idle? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

alot of vibration will cause something called 'false knock'.

What bolts did you use, and if you used the stock ones (for the gear) you need to cut em down a bit. You hear anything
? Or is it just registering kr. What other work did you do to the car?

i didnt cut the bolts down, heard you did but they fit in and torqued down to spec. i dont really heard any noise but the knock sensor goes off a little bit, im guessin using lsj injectors that were 6mm shorter than stock L61 and 2 steps colder than stock were a problem cuz when i put stock plugs back in knock sensors went down a lot....

if i can get the wires to stop with low voltage/high voltage codes n get the tuner to connect right i can actually see whats goin on but still with the balance shafts im unsure of it its those causing the noise to trigger the knock sensor

I just don't know where the sensors are located. If I knew then I could check it.

the knock sensor is below/behind the intake manifold

it has to be torqued perfectly, otherwise it won't work as it should

No I never figured this out and still havent gotten the car to idle properly. compression test is showing low on 4 i think that is causing my problem for idle...

i know i didnt torque the sensor down to spec, it was just tightened in with a wrench til it was tight, i have gotten a new knock sensor and I am going to be putting it in and torquing it down properly but i have to pull the head off again because i think there is a problem with the exhaust valves closing the whole way (which would lead to low compression and possibly the idle)

only thing holding me back is the vortex header (time it takes to remove) since i am usning arp head studs it is a bitch to take the head off because i cant get it out without either removing the studs or the header before it comes off, so once i get a good solid weekend to work on it its gonna be a few before it gets done lol
