when it heat soaks they go up higher than turbo only. BUT as soon as you move air past the cores it cooles back down very fast. so i could see where staging would be an issue.

but the trade off has been well worth it from the results in the butt dyno so far. pulls right from idle on up!

for example first gear used to be so slow to spool a 60 trim that it was useless. it would take 5000 rpm to spool then when it did the power came in so rapid that it just blew the tires off and bounced the limiter. second is such a big gap that if you failed to NLS then it would bog down when going to second due to pressure release. plus the tires spinning in first and not providing foward momentum. using a gear based boost controller helped the ramp in and 1-2 shift but did nothing for the lag.

here is a prime example of me just taking off normal and flooring it, not launching and riding the clutch out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlbVxDePUUQ

you can here when i hit full boost cause the ext WG opens. while im waiting for it to spool, bye bye camaro....lol although my car is way faster he was able to leave me on the launch.

here is a 40 roll not break boosting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v-gt...eature=related

now i have power on tap as low as idle. the power curve is so broad and so much more usable that i just simply roll in the throttle. and when i grap 2nd power is there instantly without having to NLS. that alone is worth 1/2 second in the 1/4 i would imagine. (i never would NLS at the track with DR's on due to the F35 being my weak link)

Iat-2's are 20-25* higher than iat-1 vs 10-15* when i had the hahn int mani. so thats not a big difference at all to me. but my hahn int mani would never heat soak past 125-130* in drive threw or after turning the car off to run into the store. with the stock int mani and s/c back on they get up to 140-150 but go down almost instantly as soon as you start driving again. same as a stock car with the stock pulley.

for the track im thinking of running a custom fabbed alum ice box opposed to option b tank for the water to air cooling system to help avoid heat soak.

iat-2 during 1-4 dont break 120 and thats on completely stock cooling system for the time being. i will probably do my own custom 1 pass like zzp offers and maybe a aftermarket h/e. i have not seen a need for either so far, but of coarse i will benifit from them when the time comes to optimize the system. i kinda just got it going less then a mon ago. so time will tell.

Right on good info. I'm still a fan of twincharged set ups. I simply went turbo only for the simplicity of it and went with a smaller turbo than the 256 to compensate lag. I have very minimal lag which should be eliminated with a wot box. I'm just getting rolling now with my turbo set up so many changes will occur.

what boost controller did u use for boost by gear?
