serious weight reduction
i totally agree with that sleeper BS trolling. who cares if you beat a ******* viper or a lambo they will just go home to like a beach house or some mansion and go **** his playmate wife, youll just go home smelling like a ******* skidoo saying i beat a lambo.
That new kanye album is ******* gay. What a joke kanye
Your not understanding shoog. I'm sure the op an decide what kind of car he wants for himself. His question was about wr, not " Hi I have a co0balt and please tell me what kind of car I should buy instead"

he didnt say but a turbo kit is really expensive no? lets say he paid what 5000$ for a used LS then another 5000$ then pay to get installed and tuned.... an SS wouldnt be in that price range?
ok ok im still doing it. it dosent count because he already has the LS it would be a pain to sell that then buy another. how much boost can a stock engine handle

serious weight reduction can add generously to your 1/4 mile, but why would you do that to your vehicle? I certainly won't mind doing that to a POS civic hatch though or crx if someone gave me one for free.
Listen u know what they say. If u wanna go fast dont cheap out. So u buying a base model turd to go fast is starting on the wrong foot. get the model with forced induction, forged internals, more HP, and easier and cheaper higher HP potential with a MUCH better suspension. Otherwise ur wasting ur money. IMO of course. i traded my LT in for an SS. best decision ever.
right on my friend had a NA car and he was only pushing 8pse you could hardly hear the supercharger whinne after 5000$ still didnt pass me
then he got a 350z... still didnt pass me

this is the problem with the website... why not help him out. i posted up a ton of ****. with a cheap supercharger kit on the car youll make 200whp. with some good weight reduction youll have a car weighing in at 2500lbs. thats good for some quick times
on another note. learning how to drive your car will usually mean the difference between a pos turbo civic outrunning a ctsv and a ctsv showing what its got

Not sure if they exist in the car tire world but I just bought a set of michelin pilot pure tires for my motorcycle they're supposed to shed at least a few pounds, and that's rotating weight. maybe check out something like that for your balt?
I don't own a cobalt, but I have gutted my Sunfire (its more or less my track car).
Removed:
-AC
-EVAP
-Rear Seats
-Floor Carpet
-Rear 6x9
-Trunk Carpet
-Rear Seat Belts
-Rear Metal Bumper Support
Basically its stripped from the front seats back.
Weighted it after removing everything and it came in at 2390lbs, not to bad since a J-Body has never been a light car from the factory.
I figure I removed 120-150lbs of stuff, thats a tenth and a half.
I can imagine that the removing the same stuff from a Cobalt would yield even more weight savings, since it is significantly better built than a J-Body, generally means more sound deadning and thicker plastics etc.
It definitely helps tho....refer to my sig for WHP and track times

Yes the ss is better in stock form, no argument there. But to tear up that thing is pointless to me. Yes the motor has stronger internals, but the leather recaro interior, traction control and abs assemblies, why ruin a nice car. This thing is solely for track purposes, I already have a DD. Id rather tear up and beat up a base model. And considering that atleast half of the parts would be changed out, whether it was an ss or not, I just don't see how a relatively nice ss model fits that scenario.
ok well then tear it down to bare metal with one seat get plastic windows and change trunk and hood probably to something lighter?
i guess you could buy a used SC on zzp and stuff like that and put like light 15inch wheels with good rubber
thats what i would start with. but i dont know much about weight reduction

I've had so many people pm this question to me lately and no I don't...I just finished the car about a month before snow started flying so I'm not even driving it right now...from like a 40-130 roll I put a few cars on my buddies Srt dynoed at 400 HP so I should be around that number..I can say its a sleeper and I embarrassed a lot of evos and sti's
