Turbo Issues

so here is the issue.. the turbo is leaking oil into the exhaust housing. waht could cause this?

I have rotated the turbo so that the feed line is underneath and the return line is on top. is this causing to much pressure to build up inside and pushing oil past the seals?

since its the 16g turbo I figure I can loosen the main strap and remove the snap ring on the intake side and try to rotate the center housing... anyone ever done this? I had a spare 16g to try it on and I could get it apart.. and I couldnt remeber from the last 16g I puled apart to learn from. LOL

If you have the return on the top of the turbo for sure it will smoke or leak. The oil drain on a turbo is gravity return. It must flow out of the bottom of the turbo to the oil pan. The feed side is the only side to have pressure. When you flip the turbo make sure the turbo is above the oil level in the pan or you will have the same issue. If this does not fix the prob, have a restriction in the return or a bad seal.

Most of the time the 16g has a pin locking the compr. cover in place. Remove it and loosen the v-band on the exhaust side if it is a traditional 16g and you can role the center section.
