ZZP Major Build

I'm not even done with my build at ZZP and thought I would keep you all updated on the same page I am for the completed build and their customer service throughout.

I've done a good amount of business with them before this. My current mods are

ZZP Upper IC
ZZP Lower IC
ZZP Front and rear rotated trans mounts
ZZP FMIC
ZZP BOV
ZZP S252 extended tip turbo upgrade
ZZP Catback
ZZP Intake
ect ect ect.

SO pretty much all zzp with a larger turbo. Well it came time for a build as there were some issues I ran into, I don't feel like going into that..

I emailed ZZP once before about a build and the guy who got back to me (Who shall remain nameless) pretty much just said "Go to our site and pick out the parts you want, we'll install them". This isn't what I wanted or asked for, not a bad response but not for me, I wanted them to build me a car, I'm not the pro.

A couple months pass and I email again asking for them to build me a car with THEIR KNOWLEDGE, this time I get Turbo Tim@ZZPerformance. I tell him build me a car, I ask tons of questions, he comes back with a quote with parts HE picked out. PERFECT.

My New Build
Ecotec Forged Short Block
Option 1: Add ZZP neutral balance shafts
Option 2: Fidanza aluminum flywheel
Option 3: ATI SFI turbo balancer
Option 4: Add ZZP 4340 rods
Option 5: JE 9.0:1 pistons
Model: 2.1L LNF direct injection

LNF Ported Head, Cams, Tune -Combo
Model: Larger fuel pump lobe

7064 EFR conversion
ZZP F40 6 speed transmission conversion (w/QDH9J Quaife LSD) The first Quaife LSD F40!!
(trans, flywheel, clutch disc, mounts, shift cables, intermediate
shaft, axle mod, shifter mod)
Some gauges, ect ect, general stuff.

A little while passes, black friday comes and goes, they are ready for the car. I send from Pensacola, FL with bunches and bunches of cash. It arrived last friday and it made it into the shop yesterday I believe. I'll keep this thread up and see if I can't get Tim to send me some pictures of the car being torn up and put together!

My understanding is once they start on the car they will only have it for 1-3 weeks since everything was ready when it arrived. Who can't wait for pics and videos? EVERYONE!

Thanks so far ZZP! Mostly TurboTim! :P

Shoot me any questions or suggestions you guys might have, Or just a good luck!

Edit: Thanks Aaron from TurboTechRacing on suggesting some pedder coilovers for the car. Definately needed to upgrade the stock suspension. Dunno how that slipped my mind! Great working with him. Thanks Again!!

I moved this out of vendor reviews as it seems this thread you want to be more of your build tread. When your done with this and want to write a overall review then id post that in the vendor review section.

I don't think you are the first f40 6-speed. Sythe_snake had his car at ZZP for it like 2 months ago. Great build none the less man, have fun with the car!

Could you explain why? These were suggestions from ZZP for me.

I'm far from the first f40, I'm the first with the LSD listed though.

Yea, I did some reading before I opted for the f40. Heh, I need to be more clear on my original post. I'm a first for the LSD.

You need wisecos for direct injection. The wisecos are designed specifically for direct injection with a pooling indention in the piston for fuel.

TurboTim is great, the rest are hit and miss depending on which way the wind is blowing.

So how much is the F40 conversion, all in?

The only pistons that can be used at this point in the lnf engine are either stock lnf pistons or wiseco pistons for the reasons mentioned about. The piston top is way different for the spray patterns of the di injectors.

I shot them an email, checking to see if there was a mistake during the busy holiday season. Hopefully there was some zzp magic and now JE pistons work?
