2nd gens are the better way to go in my opinion. I have them. I did some research and found some halo/projectors for over $300...then found the same ones on eBay for $170...same lights...just a higher price. They all come from China. I've heard that your DRL is actually your high beam bulb at a lower voltage. Whatever gen. you get, you will get a halogen bulb for the low, and a halogen bulb for the high. You don't need to get a separate HID kit for the high.

Get 2nd. gen. They are supposedly better quality. I wouldn't get 10000k HIDs. You won't get much light in front of your car. The highest I would go would be 8000k. That's actually what I got in my car.

I personally like the 5k HID's just because it's a clean light and much brighter. And I still need to do something about mine.... I think it's looking more and more toward 2nd gens.

Ok....so I was going to pull out my DRL fuse so that my halos and LEDs wouldn't be on during the day. Well, today before I pulled out the fuse, I turned my car on, left the lights on AUTO, took off the E-Brake (had my gf in the seat with her foot on the brake pedal), and went to see what exactly came on. To my surprise, the only thing that was on were the projectors. I decided not to pull out the fuse because once I get my HID system in there, driving around with the projectors on during the day won't hurt because they run cooler than regular halogen. So this is for anyone who wanted to pull out the DRL fuse to save their halos...you DON'T need to pull it out because they don't run during the day. Again, this is for the 2nd gen. halo/projector. I don't know how it is for the 1st and 3rds.

1st gens are always on if you keep it in AUTO. Kinda my problem right now because the halos burn out to quickly, the 6 5mm LEDs are good though.

Yeah...I have 2nd gens...and on AUTO the only thing on during the day is the projector. I think that's awesome. You really don't need anything on during the day anyways. I know halogens burn hotter...but once I get my HID kit in, you think it would be ok to leave it on during the day...as far as the lenses are concerned?

Yea I wouldn't see a problem. I want some HIDs but I have to fix my lenses first and I'm not sure if the stock lenses are a direct fit over the 1st gens?

I wouldn't be able to answer that lol. You should just get some 2nd gens.

It's a thought, but if the CCFL's go out then that's a pain to replace. The 1st gen halo's go out I just replace LEDs no problem.

Bout the only thing I can think of is contacting the company and getting new rings, and breaking the housing apart and replacing them, bout as far as I could go, I really never got a good look at them.

I have to disagree with you on that one. I have 1st gens and in the day time when I start my car and release the ebrake, the only lights that come on are the projectors, no halo, led or parking lights.

At night they are 100% on and in the day they are 100% off with auto. All I had to do was blow the DRL fuse lol.
