1st generation projector vs. newest projector question

Hey there,

I have the opportunity to buy a new set of 1st gen. projectors off a guy here in St. John for $200. When I went to have a look at them I noticed something that makes me question if I really want them now.
I noticed that the projector lense itself is VERY BLUE! My question is, just how blue does this projector make the light on the ground? And also, how does the H1 bulbs compare to H7 bulbs like that on the newest style projectors (which from what I can tell don't have the blue lense)?
Would it be wiser to buy the newest style projectors or should I get the first style thats been out for awhile?

ok first off....the original style projectors were a lil over 200 new so don't buy them used for that... second of all, i happen to like the older ones better myself, which is why i have them...and the only thing that is blue is the cutoff point which is quite possibly the sexiest thing in the entire world. Some people hate it, but others love it. It's kid of a zig zag shape, which i'm sure someone has a pic of....if not i'll try and get one for ya.

If you could snap me a few pics that would be great! How are the highbeams on them? Buddy I was going to buy them from said that he does get some condensation in the corners... do you have that problem too?

CCFL's are the 2nd gen, I have the 3rd gen and they take H1's like the 1st gen's. I love them, here's a link to my thread with some pics

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/appearance-48/3rd-gen-projectors-installed-day-night-pics-95818/

The first gens were prone to leaking and condensation, 2nd gens I'm not sure about, but mine haven't showed any signs of it yet, and I'm in and out of the freezing cold and a heated underground garage in the snow and rain. Hope that helps.

Oh and 200 used is a rip... and I'm pretty sure you can get the first gens with a clear lense if you want.

My first gen havnt had any problems other than the fact my ex cant install worth a ****. lol. they are alot brighter and they dont look blue at all. I prefer my first gens just for the sheer look of them. and yes, 200 is a rip off, i bought mine brand new for $230....
