3rd gen drl problem

As the title suggests I'm having issues with my 3rd gen projectors w/ HID's blowing out my drl fuse (the headlights work fine at night its only when the drl is active that the fuse blows). Now I have the plug and play kit w/ the drl module and I have gone over the wiring twice now and can't find anything that would cause it.

The other odd thing is that the fuse doesn't blow right away, the first fuse lasted 3 months and the second fuse lasted 1 week. I would think that if something was wired wrong the fuse would blow right away so I'm out of ideas.

Thoughts anyone?

you'll most likely have to run it on a relay

I'm gonna say just leave the DRL fuse out, having your headlights turn on and off with an HID kit isnt so great for them.

Automatic headlights will still work if you pull your DRL fuse.

take the god damn fuse out! DRL's run at a low wattage and WILL ruin your HID's. Oh, and you will still have auto lights with the fuse out. DRL's are gay anyway, why would you even want them?

Not to threadjack but I have an 05 so the DRL's are the parking lights. If I got 3rd gens would I still have to pull the DRL fuse?

No, you would not.

Don't think there is a drl fuse on the cars that used the park lights.

i've been running hid's with the daytimes in the 3rd gen for almost a year now, have had no problems whatsoever. i have a harness from mobilhid.com, has the relays built in. and if it's just dark enough to where the lights may turn on and off, i'll turn them on cause i can't see how hid's going on and off is good. heh.

daytimes typically can be lame looking, but i personally love the orange/amber side lights as the daytimes. i think it adds character to the car, makes it look a little meaner.

I know the auto headlights still work. But since they keep blowing the DRL fuse I'll just keep it out.

I just ordered HIDs, could someone please tell me where the fuse is so that I can pull it when I install them?

Would I be right in saying that the DRL module actually cancels the DRL on the car so that the HID do not get ruin. But I can still control weather my day times come on with the light switch correct?
If this is the case then thats great because my order is hung up on waiting for the DRL module to be in stock.

Thanks

Pike

I ended up just leaving the fuse out and I haven't had any other issues regarding the fuse.
