3rd Gen Headlight issue
the stock lights use that black rectangular plug and the ebgay headlight you purchased use the blue moon shaped plug. The EBAY headlights are your problem your didnt get the ones with the stock connector. Break out your soldering gun and heatshrink and go to town if you expect to use those. Otherwise send them back and buy from a reputable dealer that sells quality goods. I have had stuff like this happen before and thats why I no longer by crap from Ebay.
I had some 3rd gens off ebay as well, I wired them up fine...
but they kept blowing LEDs and after about 8 months had stress cracks from hell, looked like complete ****... so I went back to the stock lights

look further up your wiring harness i thought the same thing when i got my projos but i just unplugged the wrong spot. if you have that black square plug then i'm pretty sure that is your stock wiring harness because there are two spots it comes unplugged.
where can you get the 4th gens? Modern Performance seems to only have the 4th gens in chrome, says black has been discontinued.... I WILL NOT trust an ebay seller anymore, too much cheap ass chinese **** floating around on there now.... learned my lesson on that
thinking about getting a set of Gen Is from modern performance though

Just for the sake of anyone who ever run's into this problem again....I found the wiring harness that you need to make 3rd gen's work on a Cobalt that previously had 2nd gens and removed the old wiring harness.
Yep, went to the parts department at my local dealer and the wiring harness itself is 100 bucks, so I was advised to go to a salvage yard and get one off a busted cobalt. Keep your stock wiring harness's people.
Problem solved.
