4th gen projector issue

Just got my 4th gens in, put them on and within an hour, both were fogging up right on the inside corners. How can both not be sealed? The difference i noticed between these lights and the stockers is the cap that covers where the bulbs go in is made of flimsy rubber you just push on where as the stockers screwed in with hard plastic ones.

Could that be where the moisture is getting in?

You are the first person that I've heard of having problems with these. But then again not too many people own these yet. Maybe you just got a bad set? If your still in the return period send them back for another pair. The rubber fitting your describing could be the cause. This is why I'm not sold on ebay lights though.

the lights are made by depo, a huge manufacucture for OEM lights, just distributed from different ebay vendors

make sure both grommets are on right. i tryed to just make a slit on the bottom to feed my hid wires because i didnt make a hole in the center on the driver light when i first installed them. it came undone in the car wash and it fogged a inch pm the bottom of the light on the driver side because i made that slit as the passanger had the hole in the center.. so i took the grommet as i like to call them from my gen 1 projectors and put a hole in the center for the hid wires and fed the wires thru and put it back on and made sure they were on correct and since then i have have no fogging.
check to make sure the grommets are fully on dude.

hope this helps

ya I reported the problem to depo. They are really cool about helping us fix this. I live in Minnestoa and has been 35+ - 12+ out side and my fogging comes and goes. I think I might plug the bottom tube tonight and see if that makes a diff or not.

If it's cold out, lights are gonna fog up.

Should go away with headlight use and time.

The air inside the light had to equalize with the outside air. Think about this, they've been in a warehouse/box for weeks, the air inside is going to be warm. Outside is cold, fog happens.

Wait a couple days and you should be fine.

Same thing happened with my old 2nd gens. I took off the rubber caps & used a hair dryer to blow hot air in to the light housing. It seemed to fix the problem pretty well. After time though they stop fogging up. You just have to be patient.
