my boy just got a ticket for his tails...it was some bs...the stupid MP...was hating on his car cuz its dam sexy....well i told him to sand them down to a lighter shade....cuz they were pretty much black....and they looked a lil rough...so a sand job would help him out alot...but either way...the light shown through everytime...its not like we couldnt see his lights

 

i just tinted my tails today with the VHT nite shade, about 6-8 light coats, and about 2-4 light coats of Duplicolor Gloss, Bad thing is is some of the gloss got on my car, and its hella cold outside, i tried to put wax on it quick, but didnt really do anything. do i need to wash the back side of the car very thoroughly, then wax? and i sprayed once on each side while the taillights were IN, that was stupid but i thought i didnt hit some of the paint. could i just go to a local car detailer and have him buff it out and such?

 

I bought some OEM tail light lens housings on ebay, from someone who went aftermarket and sold their stockers:




I am going to paint these so I can keep my stockers the way they are, that way if these don't turn out right or I get ticketed, I can easily go back to stock... Also going to remove the tail lights so I don't get overspray on the car(or even risk it)..

I got them for $60 shipped, so its worth the experiment... Won them tonight, haven't received them yet... So in buying these, my night shade, clear coat, and sandpaper, I still have around $75 in them

I got my 3rd gen Halos installed earlier today, saw these last night, bidded on them and ended up winning them... got lucky, my max bid was $50 and they got up to $49, lol
