US DOT headlights are only aimable in the vertical plane... they don't have a horizontal adjustment. You would need an European E-Code headlight such as the 2nd Generation style of aftermarket projector headlamps for you to have that adjustment.

My 535 can be adjusted in the horizontal plane, as can my wifes Taurus, as can EVERY OTHER car I have owned in the past 30+ years, domestic or imported.

I do find it rather odd that, as the op points out, there is no horizontal adjustment on the Cobalt At least, none that I have been able to find.

why do you need to turn them a little more left? with my 2nd gen projectors you just twist the knob at the bottom, but idk what kind of headlights you have

Were the cars with the horizontal adjustment Visual aim or Mechanical aim?

Both actually.....from a 69 Pontiac (4 par36 lights, mech aim, all adjustable in both planes) to a 99 Taurus (2 multi surface reflectors with 9007 bulbs - just like the Cobalt - optical aim with adjustment available for both planes) and everything in between.

This Cobalt is the ONLY car out of the 15 or so I have owned (Japanese, European, American) that does NOT have any adjustment for the horizontal aim of the headlights.
