Antenna Issues...Help?

Ok guys well my ARK shorty antenna came in yesterday, and I went to go put it on but I ran into a problem... My stock antenna will not come off I have tried everything. I wrapped a cloth around it at first and used a vice grip and all that happened is the cloth spun. I then just said forget it and put the vice grip directly on the antenna, still nothing,it just starting stripping the paint and metal off the antenna. Well I kept trying and now the whole antenna including the rubber peice(not the peice on the car but the peice inside that peice) is just spinning. What can I do guys? This is really pissing me off.

Thanks in advance for any help

it screws on from the outside. Im almost positive its a 8mm wrench. u should see the slots at the bottom of the ant where a wrench would fit.

When I was doing my springs, I was trying to take the bolt off the hub with an impact. It wasn't coming off, until the guy that was helping me out noticed I had it set for the wrong direction. It happens.

when i did my 07, i ended up with the same problem just not as bad lol. the antenna was seized ! i took a pocket blow torch the kind that run on butane and heated it up for like 5 min all around the joint. keeping it away from the car , spoiler , any paint in genral . the base is steel where the mast is cast so the 2 metals oxidize together ( fuse togethere lol ) apply a little bit of heat and you should be able to twist it right off . make sure to brace the inside mast otherwise you might snap the both of them . good luck

LMAO.... Man did you try spraying anything on it? Like between the antenna and where it mounts? I would try that and then try turning it the opposite direction a lil and then back the direction that it is sposed to go....
