alright so i got a shorty antenna and i wanted to quickly remove my stock one and spin it on but for some reason its not easy...

when i loosen the antenna the entire assembly is twisting and i opened the trunk and tried to get a wrench down on the other side but i cant fit it

Somehow support the base as much as you can. Then take a cloth, wrap it around the part at the base of the antenna with 2 flat sides, then use pliers and try to twist it off.

i had to pull mine out grab the rubber boot outside the car and pull up and the whole wire and all comes out than wrench both top and bottom and to reinstall i used a pick but a flat head driver would work to get the rubber back in.

Yeah, whatever you do.. Don't not! break the stud inside the antenna/base. I ended up drilling and tapping the base part so I could reinstall the new one. But sounds like you already broke the base off the bracket. unless you took the bracket off first. wish I would have thought of that.
But otherwise, like everyone else said. Get a wrench ( I used a pair of vice) and wrench it off.

ha its alright i figured out that my **** was broken and i think it was from a carwash but theres a bracket inside the trunk that keeps the antenna from moving and also is bolted on so the inside doesnt twist when u remove the antenna from the outside. well i had to bend the bracket back to fit some vicegrips in there and then take the antenna off but for some reason the threads were rusted to hell and the shorty wouldnt screw on completely so i said f*** it and left the shorty half screwed on haha. ill work on it tmrw

nice, lol. At least it didn't snap off. Hopefully some wire brush or sandpaper will fix that for you.
