any how to on removing and reinstalling a wing?

I am about to purchase a high rise wing for my car from someone on this site and was wondering if anyone has ever done a how to on the subject. I did a search and found nothing really. I saw some posts saying use a heat gun and fishing line for the adhesive from the fatory, which is no big deal. Im assuming its the same concept as debadging. But what about reinstalling one...what kind of adhesive should i go with? I was thinking of going with either RTV sealant or autozone has a body trim adhesive. Basically i want to know what adhesive other people have used. Thanks.

To remove wing get a pair of gloves, some string, and hairdryer if you want. Heatgun can get to hot and **** paint up. Then its just flossing under your wing, then floss other side. Then pull up both sides at same time (after you unbolted it from underneath that is)

To reinstall I would just use some single sided or double sides foam tape or whatever else other people may suggest.

A hair dryer and all the credit cards and fishing line in the world will not get off the high rise

I dunno about that, iv taken off 2 low rise wings. Its just frustrating and the string breaks a few times. You just gotta take time and listen to a good song while doing it. You can try some gasoline and stuff buts its hard to get it underneath the wing. Just floss it back and forth, then the other side. Then get some1 to help you lift up on it and tilt it while you continue to floss underneath.

goo gone gel, multi-intensity heat gun, BRAIDED NYLON FISHING LINE, a friend and a six pack.

when using the fishing line. use it like your flossing your teeth, only its the spoiler and trunk, try to go side to side more than you are pushing against the adhesive. i also found it was easier to start from the inside and work towards the outside

goo-gone would work fine but youll find yourself just using the string/fishing line and not constantly pouring goo-gone on it. goo gone and haridryer is better after wing is off to get all the excess **** off

Yeah, I took my low rise spoiler off a while ago and that thing was a biatch, used a hair dryer and just held it in one spot forever, but the high rise has even more tape on it, so good luck getting that off.

Dealership should be able to get you the stock tape that came with them for oem fit. I think its around 40 for the kit. Id put out the money though because just some regular double sided tape will allow the spoiler to vibrate and rub into paint, had it happen to me.Then what Ive always done is run a bead of silicone around bolt holes and the little half circles behind the rear bolts because once the spoiler gets tightened it will seal up. Did it on mine, no leaks even when spraying from the side of base with hose.

I got the tape from the dealer and it seems like it's only for one side so am i supposed to spend another 40 bucks for the other one?
