I bought a ARK Extreme Performance Shorty Antenna and the threads are too small for the car. Has anyone else bought this antenna and had the same problem? Is there anyway to remedy that?

 

i think theres two sizes. one for 05-early06 and late06-later.

 

When you order the ARK antenna you are required to tell them the size stud you have -- 7MM in your case. You got one for the 6MM thread stud. See if they'll take it back and send the right one.

Sounds like you ordered the one for the wrong year. Like people said above, theres one for '05-'06 models, and then one for '07+ models.

Bottom 2 pictured antennas are for the Cobalt 6mm and 7mm

 

there is a 6mm and a 7mm

05 till early 06 models are 6mm
late 06 models up not sure if 08 but are but there are 7mm

my cut stock antenna has some pretty EXTREME performance

 

yeh dude there is two sizes and since it is too small you have an 07 balt. So see if they will take it back and send you the right one

 

if anything these antennas arent for performance at all.. theyre just there for looks.. my reception sucks now but it does LOOK better

I'm going to get one of those under windshield kits because the only thing I listen to on the radio is Yankees baseball when I'm coming home from work. or I might just cut the stock to around a few inches and put that back on.

 

does anyone have the ark extreme shorty antenna in silver? I want to see what it would look like. I saw a mercedes the one day that had a color matched antenna and it looked really good. Somebody just let me know if they have a pic. thanks

 

Just paint it silver. If you don't like it. Paint it black again. LOL

 

I'm only seeing the 07+ shorty, not the 05-06.
