bad stock headlight fitment

the dealer replaced my headlights cause they broke the height adjustments on them off. well these are BRAND NEW lights and they fit horrible. the others fit decent.i dont understand why my driver side light fits so off. im thinking about pulling the bumper higher to the gap with zipties to fill in the gap. its ugly anyone have any ideas to get it closer to the bumper?i wreslted with it forever and it wont get any better
at the dreaded dealer:they left it with a huge gap

it isnt too noticeable from far away..

the dealer. one adjustment didnt work. so i brought it in. they broke the damn thing completely off! so before i checked and saw that, they told me they "leveled" my lights out. well when i got home i pop the hood and the whole adjustment is broke and the other one is stripped. and both lights are bottomed out and i cant see **** at night. had to raise hell at the delear to get them to fix their **** up. they tried to say my hids had to do with the height adjustment.sooo anyways they replace both with brand new lights and this is what i get

this WILL be the last GM car i buy. everytime i take it in for warranty work its some BS.

At least it can blend in with all the other horrible fitments. When I bought my car off the dealer the bumber was hanging about 1/4 inch low on just one side. I havent bothered to fix it yet I dont know if they will even cover that sort of thing.

sorry to hear that. fit and finish is terrible on chevys.cobalt is a prime example.

i think i might cut the tabs on the light and 3m tape/ziptie it where i want it at

this.

theres two tabs underneath the light. based on the small gap near the top and large gap at the bottom, looks like its just not sitting in them correctly.

you have to unbolt them, you can't just push them around while still bolted in. also, when you take them out make sure the headlight bracket itself is bolted in right

They missed the inner tab on the bottom of the lights. That's what happens when you miss that one. If you miss the outside one it won't fit right in the corner. A good tip is to put the inside corner of the light in first, you'll feel the tab go all the way into the slot. Then make sure you get the outside tab in, which is typically the most difficult.

The lights will fit fine, your dealer is just apparently run by retards. Unbolt the lights and pull them off the car, CAREFULLY. Look under the bottom of the lights and look for the two tabs mentioned here previously. Notice there's two slots in the headlight bracket on the car. If the tabs don't go into those slots, you get the hideous gap that you currently have. Why the GM techs couldn't figure that **** out is beyond me but trust me the lights will fit fine, you just have to take them off and put them back on the proper way. If you have issues trying to get them in, remove some of the plastic clips holding the grille and bumper to the metal support. It's usually easier to get the lights in if the bumper can move around a bit.
