Best Halo Projectors to get?

After a lot of thought, i have decided against investing in retro-fits at the moment and I am probably going to get Halo headlights. I have heard that the Gen 1's are horrible and everyone has problems with them. I have also had a buddy that got them for his G5 and the three lights up top never worked. So what do you think? Which Gen is best in Quality AND Look? Pros and Cons? Tips?

Are they all plug and play?

From pics I've seen, gen 1's have the best cutoff. I've also heard the lenses on all them suck and will start showing little cracks after awhile, at which you point ditch em, deal with it, or swap your stock lenses on. I've had gen 3's for a few months and they've been fine. Depends on exactly what you're looking for as far as the look. If you care at all about light output, and I say this as a gen 3 owner, I would personally recommend you save up and invest in retrofits.

I really like the 4th, maybe even the best. But i like halos even more. Still not sure why they did not put Halos on these. As far as light output, eh. I know retrofits is the way to go but thats something ill consider if these die. And by that i mean when. Is there a better bulb i can put in these projectors that wont tear them apart in a week?

ya, hids help a lot. Go with 5000k if you do get them. They're pure white, and will give you the maximum output, which you'll need since the aftermarket projectors are pretty dim.

Because halos are dumb. Just sayin. Nothing will tear these lenses apart in a week, but HIDs run cooler and will be easier on the lenses.

Got a set of 1st gens in my garage, swapped the stock lenses for OEMs when they started peeling. No complaints other than that though.

hids require a kit, which includes bulbs and ballasts. Ballasts ignite the bulbs. I also recommend a relay harness because although hids run on low voltage while running, they require a lot of power to start up, which can burn up your stock wiring. A relay solves this by drawing power directly from the battery (or fuse box in our case) and takes the load off the stock wiring.
