best way to black out tail lights?

hey what would be the best way to black out tail lights? Everyone online has their own ways I'm just wondering what people do on here?

I got VHT nightshade, dupli-color clear coat

whats up with the wet sanding and buffing?

and how do people get the shine?

best way to get a prefect shine and color. is black and clear from a gun. now. some guys do get a good shine and color with VHT and clear. do then. wet sand with 1500. then whatever coats of VHT then 3coats clear. wet sand from 2000-3000 and then buff and polish/wax.

You don’t need to sand your lights up to 1500 grit. When painting a car you are only suppose to sand the last coat of prime up to 600. Otherwise your sealer, base won’t stick as well.

I just sanded my tails with a 600 dry. Shot my red mid-coat clear, dry, sand with 1500, PPG 2055 clear, baked, trizac (3000 grit), then wheeled.

Guaranteed your best way to get that "shine" you want.
